WOW look how many items are in this months box, they spoiled everyone again.

I do see a product I have had many times, the beer from Tiny Rebel Brew Co. 🙂 I have many of their beers so I cant wait to have a wee drink.

As I eat, drink etc each product I will do a wee review of each item so keep watching for my posts.⠀

The Goodies

Pipers Crisps

There were two packets of Pipers crisps so lets do a wee review for each

Wild Thyme & Rosemary

I started with this one, first I smelled the packet and ohhh it smelled lovely…now time to taste.

WOW this was so good, I really loved the flavour and the crunch of these crisps.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Cheddar & Onion

Next was these, normally I am not a big cheese and onion fan but I went in with an open mind.

These were nice and the flavour wasn’t over powering, and I didn’t have any strong after taste which I get with others.

I still preferred the Wild Thyme and Rosemary

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Tony’s Chocolonely

This stood out for me as it sounded soo good “Chocolate caramel and sea salt”

I took a small bite to start with and WOW I was in love!!!

You get the chocolate flavour to start with, then the caramel kicks in and it ends with the sea salt….this was so good and probably will be my favorite item in this box.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Clwb Tropica IPA (Tiny Rebel)

As soon as I saw the can I knew what it was and the brewery.

I am a fan of Tiny Rebel, I even have their orange Tiny Rebel t-shirt. They do really good beers, so I couldn’t wait to pop this open.

This isnt my fav one of their beers but it is a really nice one, its slightly sour but not too sour you dont want to finish it.

I drank this along with the peanuts, while watching Netflix.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Curators Cocoa Caramel Peanuts

Now this sounded a very interesting combo, chocolate caramel coated peanuts….I decided to pop open my beer and enjoy these on their own and with my beer.

Now this was interesting, they were nice but slightly unusual.

They did taste nice on their own and with a beer

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Peters Yard Sourdough Bites

I have had a few products from Peters Yard, and enjoyed them…and these sounded and looked nice from the packet.

Time to open and dig in.

mmmm these were so good! the flavour was very nice, the texture was great and yeah I sat down with Netflix and a drink and enjoyed the whole packet.

Highly recommended.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Brave Roasted Chickpeas (Sweet Chilli)

This sounded very good, I am a big fan of chickpea snacks and also the flavour sweet chilli so I really looked forward to opening these.

Hmm I had to take a few for me to taste the sweet chilli which I was a little disappointed with, but overall they were just ok.

For a wee mid meal snack am sure these would be great.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Dash Water : Peaches

Now this sounded interesting, I like water and I like the flavour of peach so this should be good.

hmm it was just ok, for me personally the flavour of peach was a little weak for me…I would have preferred if it was a stronger flavour.

I am sitting on the fence with this one…

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Nexba Pineapple Soft Drink

Woohoo another drink.

After the peach water I thought lets try this as am sure this will be much better.

This was a very nice drink, and very refreshing. I really liked its flavour, it wasnt a strong pineapple taste but enough to enjoy it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Good Earth Herbal Tea

I am not much a tea drinker but I thought its always good to try new things.

This smelled really nice when I opened the box, and again the pouch smelled very good.

I let this sit for a little in my cup, and then tried it.

This was lovely, much better than I expected….it still hasn’t turned me over to be a tea drinker but if you like tea I highly recommend this.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Odysea Aubergine Meze Dip

A premium dip that doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge and based on a traditional Greek recipe.

Aubergine is not the first that comes to mind when I think of a dip, so this would be interesting to try and see how it tastes.

I popped it open and grabbed some crisps.

This was interesting, Aubergine is not a flavour I am very familiar with….

I did and didnt like it at the same time if that makes sense, I think its just a flavour that I need to get accustomed with. I am sure if you like Aubergine you will love this, for me I am sitting on the fence.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Leon Aioli (Garlic Mayo)

It has been at the heart of LEON restaurant menus since 2004.

I love most things garlic so I couldn’t wait to try this, though some garlic dishes do come back on me so I was hoping it wasn’t too strong a flavour.

I made myself a chicken sandwich, and spread it over the chicken.

This was very very nice, the garlic was not overpowering and perfect! and it tasted really good.

I highly recommend this!.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Capsicana Mexican Tomato & Chipotle Tinga Cooking Paste

It’s based on the dish “chicken tinga” a classic shredded chicken dish originally from the state of Puebla.

I have been doing a lot more home cooking again recently, and when I got this I thought ohh this will be interesting to cook with.

I made a shredded chicken and rice dish, and used this sauce on the chicken.

This was really good and had a very subtle kick, which was perfect for me. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the dish as I enjoyed it too much before I remembered I had to take a photo.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

November Degusta Box : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at Degusta Box asked if I would like to try their service, and told me a little about them.

About

Enjoy 10 to 15 products, many are completely new to the market! Receive your Degusta Box every month filled with goodies.

All for a cheaper price than you would pay in the shops!

The Goodies

Jaffa Cakes: Orange and Cranberry

This months box has a festive theme to it, and even the Jaffa Cakes have a festive feel.⠀

I love normal Jaffa Cakes and could easily finish any packet off in one sitting, so I was happy to see them included in this delivery.⠀

The flavour “Orange and Cranberry” sounded very interesting, so it was time to taste and see what it was like.

I took a bite and ohh now this was interesting….I could taste the orange and also the cranberry both together worked very very well.

The orange flavour still came through much much more than the cranberry but mmmm yeah very nice⠀

La Boulangère : Plain Brioche Baguettes

These baguettes are soft, and melt in your mouth! I tried one without anything and had to make my lunch with one.

I made a hame and soft cheese baguette, and couldn’t wait to dig in.

This was really really good, I loved how soft it was and tasty.

I am going to get this next visit to my local supermarket.

Lindt – Mint and Orange Treatbar

I have had these before, and if you haven’t you need to try these….well, anything Lindt as their chocolate products are smooth chocolaty and mega moreish.

Mint :  Normally when it comes to most mint chocolate bars, the mint has a cheap or fake taste to it but with this, it was perfect and really nice.⠀

Orange : For me, any orange chocolate is either hit or miss, as like what I said with the mint flavour its got a fake taste to it….but with this nope really good!!!!!⠀

Pip’s Real Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate contains no trace of any of the 14 major allergens.⠀

I got hot chocolate in the last box, so couldn’t wait to try this one.⠀

This was a new product for me, as I have never heard of them but since it didn’t contain any of the major allergens I was looking forward to seeing how it tasted.

It smelled really nice, now to taste…hmm for me I have a sweet tooth but I could barely taste the chocolate…little disappointed but I still finished it.

KitKat Santa Chocolate Bar and Pouch

Get into the festive feeling with these KitKat chocolate bars and pouches.⠀

How cute and festive do they look? These would be great treats for kids and adults as they taste really good! and put a smile on your face when you see them.

The Santa’s from the pouch had that instantly recognisable flavour of KitKat and so did the Santa Bar, I have to admit these were finished very fast.

KIND Bars

Unfortunately, just like last time, I can’t take these chocolate bars due to the type of nut which I am allergic to…..so for the review I got help and here is what the person thought of these.⠀

KIND Caramel Almond and Sea Salt⠀:

It was very nice, very tasty and very filling. It was very crunchy, and the hint of sea salt added that little extra taste.

KIND Double Dark Chocolate Nut⠀:

It was quality chocolate, that had a very nice texture and taste to it.

Clipper Tea

Enjoy 24 cups of Christmas cheer with their new tea advent calendar. Its filled with their best selling organic teas and infusion flavours.

Look at this! How cool does that look and what a great idea, defiantly to get you into that Christmas mood.

I made myself a wee cup of tea with tea bag number 1 and this is what I thought.

How cute does the tea bag packaging look, now to the taste.

Lets start with the smell, this had a very christmasy aroma which was really nice. It really started to get me in the festive feel, next the taste.

This had a cinnamon taste, and reminded me of that christmasy pinecone scent and VERY lovely to drink.

Daelmans Stroopwafels – Mini Caramel Stroopwafels

I have never heard of these, seen these or even tried these so I was looking forward to trying something new.

These were the perfect size to have as a nibble, or with a coffee or tea.⠀

The taste for me was just ok, they were nice but since I have a sweet tooth the caramel flavour could have been a bit stronger as it was just there and no more for me.

Overall they were nice, and yup you guessed it the packet was finished not long after it opened.⠀

Maille Dijon Original Mustard

French Dijon Mustard….⠀

I am not really a mustard fan, but since this was French, not English I knew it wouldn’t be too strong so I made myself a little lunch.⠀

The smell of this mustard was very nice, so now to taste how my sandwich tasted.⠀

My lunch was very nice, the mustard had just a nice wee kick to it and a nice taste I enjoyed it very much.⠀

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon⠀

How cool is this? Some wine in this months Degusta Box….really nice touch.⠀

“Yellow label wines are bright, fruit-driven and full of flavour” now to see if this is true.⠀

Chardonnay

I started with the Chardonnay (2018) let me start by saying I am no wine expert, so I can’t say too many things about it apart from if its nice.⠀

This was a nice light white wine, and I really loved its flavour. Yes, I did taste the fruity notes, but that’s really as much as I can say. I would love to learn more about wine

Next on to the Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon (2017)⠀

I don’t tend to go for red wines, more white or rose so this would be interesting to try as just like the other this was the first time I was trying anything by Wolf Blass.

This was a very nice red, I sipped this one as I really liked its flavour and had it alongside my dinner.⠀

Both of these wines I would purchase, as I enjoyed them.⠀

ZEST Pesto (Coriander and Basil Pesto)

Free from artificial anything.

I am a big pesto fan, pesto in my pasta, sandwiches etc its just a great flavour so when I saw this I knew I had to makes some nice pasta to try it.

This was so good, it really made my chicken pasta taste amazing!!

I would use this again when it comes to buying my pesto.

Thinking About Your Purchase Price And Running Costs Of Your Next Car

Buying a car is often one of the bigger purchases you will make. You have to think about the cost of your car both now and in the long-run.

Image by Jay George from Pixabay

Your budget will determine if you are going to be able to buy new or look at something like the Vauxhall Network Q programme and buy a used car that has been certified as safe. However, you also need to make considerations for the running costs.

It is vital that you have a realistic budget. If you over-reach you may end up having problems in the future. Especially if you don’t have any savings or you lose your income.

Work out The Potential Running Costs

Once you have figured out how much you can afford to spend on your car, you need to make sure you will be ok to run it too. Remember that running costs don’t include the cost of depreciation. You will find that running a newer car costs less, but the older car costs less upfront. You should also think about things such as fuel, a larger engine will usually cost more to run, and often lose more of their value through depreciation.

How You Can Find The Right Car

Try not to allow your heart to rule your head. If you can’t afford a new dream car, think about buying nearly new or used. Unless you have a car in mind already, you should have a look online, in magazines, on motoring websites, and at your local dealer’s to get an idea of what you may like. It’s also great to ask family or friends about there cars and see if they have any recommendations or cars to avoid.

Make Sure You Ask Yourself

Once you have sat down and figured out your budget for your car and the running costs. You should ask yourself:

  • Am I looking for one of the safest cars on the road?
  • Will I need to tow anything such as a caravan or trailer?
  • How much warranty am I after?
  • Will the car I’m looking at hold it’s value?
  • Have I done my research about reliable cars on the market?
  • Will my new car fit in my garage
  • Will I drive long or short distance most often?
  • Do I want my car to be environmentally-friendly and economical?
  • How much space do I need in my new car? Will I be taking passengers? Children or perhaps a dog?
  • Do I need to keep the running costs to a minimum? Insurance, Road tax, and repairs.

When You Are Comparing Cars

You need to make sure you compare the cars that you are considering. Especially if you are stuck with which one you should make your final decision on. Com[are the features, the fuel economy, the insurance costs, road tac costs, look at reviews, etc.

This guide should help you get started when looking for a car in your ideal budget. Have you started to look for your next car? What sort of things are you considering? Please share some of them in the comments.
