An attempt at Chef Ajay Kumar (Swadish Restaurant) Tandoori Chicken Tikka Recipe

I thought since the first time went ok, let’s try another recipe from Chef Ajay’s YouTube channel.

This time round my fiancee and I decided to try the Tandoori Chicken Tikka, so we had to watch make sure we had everything (a quick trip to Tesco was needed) and then setup and get ready to watch and prepare at the same time as the video.

We watched the first part of the video and left the marinated chicken for 24 hours, as we wanted it to be nice and tender.

Since we didn’t have a Tandoor in the flat, we opted for the oven and actually left it for 40mins which for us was perfect.

This was our finished attempt.

From start to finish this smelled really good, and also tasted really good.

The final result was AMAZING!! for me the chicken had the perfect flavour and was very light. I had loads this night, and didn’t feel that bloated way after it all.

An attempt at Chef Ajay Kumar (Swadish Restaurant) Dal Tadka

Chef Ajay Kumar

One of my fav Indian restaurant’s in Glasgow is Swadish.

You can see my blogs and vlogs from some of my visits, by typing Swadish in the search box on my blog.

Like most people who are currently at home due to the pandemic, my fiancee and I decided to start trying to make some dishes at home.

Chef Ajay recently started a YouTube channel and we thought let’s see what we could try, and if we have all or most of the ingredients in the flat.

We decided to try the Dal Tadka or Dhal.

So we slowly watched and started preparing and following the video!

A few of the items that Ajay was using we didn’t have in the kitchen, but we had alternatives that we decided to use.

We didn’t have cumin seeds but we had grounded cumin , and we didn’t have curry leaves so we used grounded curry powder.

Following Ajay’s video we found it very easy to follow and the smell from start to finish was amazing, we both couldn’t wait to try it 🙂

This was our finished attempt.

As you can see its….kind of close…but it did taste very very good.

We both want to try this again, and know how we could improve what we did so our next attempt will be closer to Chef Ajay’s version…..well thats the aim 🙂

For a first attempt we were very happy with our result, and as I said we know what we need to do to improve on what we did this time for next time.

Please do try this, as its a very nice dish and very tasty 🙂

BurgurGrill – Halal (Pollokshields, Glasgow) VLOG

The guys over at BurgerGrill invited me to the launch night, where I could try some of their food. This is what I thought of the restaurant and the food.
