The cocktails

As you saw from the above photo there are many cocktails for you to try, and they do more than what I was sent just visit https://tonicathome.co.uk/collections/cocktails for a full list.

Now on to the cocktails….

Strawberry Daiquiri

I started with the Strawberry Daiquiri, and just like the packet says it was super easy to prepare.

I had to find a fancy glass in the house, so I could have a nice wee cocktail at home.

WOW this packed amazing flavour and am not just saying that, it was very very very nice and tasty!!

I really loved the flavour of this, and I could have easily had a second…and maybe a third

This one is a solid 5/5 for me.

Pina Colada Daiquiri

So after having the first one, and really loved it I had to prepare another one and this is the one I choose.

Just like the first the preparation was very easy, instructions super simple and it smelled so good….now the tasting time

Ok so I am not just saying that because these were sent to me, but WOW really WOW they are full of flavour and so so so delicious.

This one is a solid 5/5 for me.

Pornstar Martini

This was my drink of choice a few years back, and I could easily have many of these. It was easy to drink, and had great flavour so I couldn’t wait to try this one.⠀

This was just as good as I remembered, the flavour mmmm so so good!⠀

This brought back so many memories, and just like then I could have easily had more of these.

Espresso Martini

My second cocktail of choice ages ago was this one, and it just depended on how I was feeling that night if I wanted something sweet or this coffee cocktail.⠀

The smell of this was too good to be true, I could have easily smelt it for a while but it did have to be tried so…on to the tasting.⠀

WOW perfection! That’s all I can really say if you like Espresso Martini’s then this one is for you and you will LOVE this.

A solid 5/5

Starburst Martini⠀

This was a new one for me, and I didn’t really know what to think on how it would taste….maybe very sweet? Well it was time to find out.⠀

The smell of this was very nice, and very sweet which was perfect for me as I have sweet tooth so I couldn’t wait to try this.

This was very interesting, not as sweet as I thought it would be but still had a really nice flavour

This is one I would try again, as the more I had the more I liked it 🙂

There’s No Place Like Tonic

I have never heard of this one, so it was my last one and I couldn’t wait to try it.⠀

It smelled very very good, but how did it taste?⠀

This was very smooth and had a really good mango flavour mmmm it was perfection in a glass and another one I could have easily had more than just one off.⠀

This was another 5 out of 5

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the cocktails.

Firstly a big thanks to the guys for these amazing cocktails, all of them tasted amazing and I could have easily had double 🙂

Every single one of these cocktails was easy to prepare, smelled and tasted really good and I loved how you got the extra garnish to make them look great to.

These cocktails are mega tasty and I highly recommend their service! give the guys a message and order some and let me know what you think.

Steak and Cherry Restaurant Takeaway via FoodHub (Glasgow) : Review

Partially Gifted

Recently the guys over at FoodHub.co.uk gave me £20 to spend on their app, and to take a journey with it from downloading to ordering and see what I thought.

The reason it says Partially gifted is I spent more than £20 that night, so I paid for the difference.

The Restaurant

Steak and Cherry have been on my list to visit for a while (my list keeps growing), and when I spotted it on FoodHub I thought yeah lets order tonights takeaway from them.

The Food

Now this was the hard part as I saw so many dishes I would love to order, but I wanted to be good and just get two mains and two sides.

Next time I order or visit I will try the other dishes that jumped out at me.

Steak and cherry legendary burger

STEAK AND CHERRY LEGENDARY BURGER £12.95
This also comes with a side of home made chips

When I ordered this I didnt spot the small text that said it came with homemade chips, I guess I was too hungry and just was focusing more on what I wanted to order.

This was a big burger, and looked and smelled good….so now it was time to dig in.

This was a big bite, the flavours of the beef, bacon, cheese and onion rings was nice and worked well.

  • Value For Money : 4
  • Overall : 4

Side :

Sweet Potato Fries £4.75

Sweet Potato Fries are starting to become my new norm for fries when I am out, so I had to order then from here to see how they did them.

These were nice and crispy, and had a really good flavour.

  • Value For Money : 5
  • Overall : 5

Steak and Cherry Bang Bang Chicken Burger

STEAK AND CHERRY BANG BANG CHICKEN BURGER £11.95

My Fiancee ordered this but I had to have a bite or two, so I could do a little review of this to plus just in case it could be one I would order next time.

For me this had much more flavour than my burger, plus is also had a nice little kick to it…I could have had more bites but I couldn’t do that as I did order the burger for me.

  • Flavour : 5
  • Value For Money : 5
  • Overall : 5

more Sides

CURLY FRIES £4.25

These were the sides for the chicken burger (again we both failed to notice they came with house fries), and had a really good taste and just the right amount of crispness to them.

  • Flavour : 5
  • Value For Money : 5
  • Overall : 5

Mocktail

Cherry Mocktail £3.95

I wanted to get a little extra, but I didn’t see any desserts so I opted for a sweet mocktail.

This was really nice and refreshing and the cherry flavour was spot on.

  • Flavour : 5
  • Value For Money : 5
  • Overall : 5

Takeaway Overall :

Tonights takeaway from placing the order on Foodhub, to it arriving and was flawless.

The food we got was very nice and mega filling, for me tonights favs were the chicken burger and both sides of fries. The burger was nice, but I think the flavour of the chicken burger hit the spot for me instead.

DryGate Brewery NEW Bar Food and Cocktail Menu (Glasgow) : Review

Invited

V: 6th March 2020

The guys over at DryGate Brewery, invited me over to the launch night of their new bar Food and Cocktail menu.

Looking Around

I have been to Drygate many times, with friends or with the craft beer tasting tours so I know it very well.

The event tonight was upstairs, the new menu for upstairs only.

The Food

I didnt know what was in store for me tonight, but I was mega looking forward to it.

I was told that a sampler would be brought round to me, and I could select 2 cocktails to try which was great.

Sampler

  • Pizza By The Slice
  • Cauliflower Wings (VG)
  • Tacos : Crisp Fried Haddock
  • House Made Nachos (V)

All of these samples were very nice, and full of flavour, my favourite from this selection was the Cauliflower Wings and I could have easily had more.

The fish taco was nice, but the taco broke up for me very easily so I couldn’t grab and eat, I had to use my knife and fork.

And there was more..

This was Drygates Vegan Curry was served in a tiffin tray with bread, rice and dips.

Presentation wise I really liked this, and as you can see its very instagramable…..now for the taste..

This was a VERY good curry, and extremely moreish.

If you like currys you need to try this, and I promise you you wont regret it.

Cocktails :

Orinoco Russian : Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Orinoco Syrup, Milk and Cream Chocolate

and

Pineapple Rum Old Fashioned : Plantation Pineapple Rum, Sugar and Orange Bitters

Both these cocktails were very good, but my fav and one I would definitely have again is the Orinoco Russian mmmmm so good 🙂

Visit Overall :

Note : Just because this was an invite, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the day.

Firstly a big thanks to DryGate for my invite, I really had a great time and good food and cocktails.

I really loved the Cauliflower Wings and the Drygate Vegan curry, these were my top two dishes from tonight.

Overall I can recommend you visit and try the new menu and the cocktails, as I really enjoyed what I had. Thanks again guys 🙂

See you soon
