Tonight I was walking around this area of the West End, and I decided to pop in here and have a beer and a burger.

Looking Around

On entering it instantly hits you that this is more a pub/bar, but they do have a section through the back where you have booths to eat.

Since I am getting into the craft beer scene, I spotted a few names I recognised so I was going to try a beer I’ve not had before.

As I was shown to my table I had a look at some of the food everyone else was having, and ohhhh they also do really nice looking Hot Dogs.

Main

Southern Fire Burd £10.95

Crispy chicken, bacon, cheese & buffalo sauce

On arrival, this looked very good, and a good sized portion.

First I tried the chips…

These were nice and fresh and had a good taste but a little salt was needed but that’s more a personal preference.

Now the burger…

mmm, the chicken was nice and crispy but had a tender centre, the sauce and cheese and bacon just added to the flavour.

This was a nice chicken burger!!

A really nice first visit, with some good food and a good selection of craft beers.

I will definitely be going back here, as I HAVE to try the hot dogs!!!!

Harry’s Dolce Vita (Knightsbridge, London): Review

The last time I visited here was about 20 years ago I worked out, as it was the same length of time since the last time I saw the musical Notre Dame de Paris in London.

This was the last day of my recent London trip, so it was time to grab some lunch and here was the perfect spot to have it in.

Looking Around

Inside is very traditional and classy, it has a posh Italian cafe style feel to it. The atmosphere is really nice, and you get cosy as soon as you sit down.

It was busy today so I didn’t want to take any inside photos, as people were enjoying chatting and eating.

The Food…

EGGS BENEDICT £8.95

Sliced roast ham on toasted focaccia bread, two poached hen’s eggs with hollandaise sauce and chives

Now, this was an odd option for me, as I am not a big egg fan but I haven’t had it in a very very long time and thought let’s try it and see.

I started with the fries and have to say these were nice, I think there were some rosemary hints coming through? whatever it was these were nice.

The Eggs Benedict I started and have to say wow this was very good!!! I would have this again as I loved the flavours. This has converted me from not having eggs to starting them again.

20 years later and the food atmosphere and service is still really good.

Yes, the prices are a little higher than you would normally want to pay, but one its London and to the location as it’s right next to Harrods.

Innis & Gunn NEW Brewery Taproom : Event (Glasgow, West End)

tap room

Innis & Gunn Brewery Taproom
44 Ashton Lane

I have been to Innis & Gunn on Ashton Lane a few times, for food, drinks or both so when I got an email for an invite to their Tap Room launch I had to accept.

I have been getting in to the beer scene in a big way this year, so I was very excited to see what they have done to the place as its been a while since my last visit.

Official Opening : 21 June 2019

Looking Around

When I entered I instantly noticed a massive!! difference!! the place looked so much more modern from the last time and had a very good vibe tonight.

They have created a new Scottish soul food menu, and £5 before five lunch menus which is really good. It also has its own brew room which will be used for tastings, so this again is going to be very cool and I am sure attract a lot of people.

I actually learned tonight and its bad saying this, as it shows how much attention I payed when I visited my last times…..there are several floors in here! yip tonight I learned its not just a ground floor place, there are a few above….shame on me.

The second floor was more for eating, and again just like downstairs it had a very modern look and a really nice feel to it.

The top floor is the cocktail area, which just like the other floors has a very nice modern look.

As I said I never really knew that there were more floors here, so I cant comment on the changes made to them.

Overall

Firstly thank you for my invite tonight guys 🙂

I had a great night tonight, and really loved what changes has been made and the feel and look of each floor.

Looking around at everyone when I stopped at each level, everyone was enjoying looking around, having a nibble and having some beer.

Some little food nibbles were passed around the whole night, and the ones that I sampled were really good so I aim to go back for some food and a beer at some point.

If you have been here before or fancy checking out the new Tap Room do take a visit, you will see many good beers and have a great night.

Official Opening : 21st June 2019
