Today’s visit was heading to Silverburn Shopping Centre for a quick browse, food and film.
Today’s choice of restaurant was here at Tony Macaroni’s.
It had been ages since my last visit, and I can’t remember what I got so today would be a nice surprise.

The Food
I had no idea what to order but I thought whatever catches my eye, I will just go with that.
Arancino Mediterrano £7.25
Tradition deep-fried Italian rice balls coated in breadcrumbs, made with tomato sauce, cheese mixed vegetables, and pesto. Served with spicy mayo.
On arrival, this looked really nice and also had a good aroma.
I tried one of the balls on its own and it was cooked perfectly and had a very nice flavour. I tried with the spicy mayo and it lifted it to a different level, both with and without was very good.

Penne Contadina £13.95
With chicken, mushrooms, garlic and spinach in a creamy sauce finished with parmesan.
I normally go for carbonara but I spotted this and it sounded nice.
On arrival this looked very nice, and had an ok aroma…nothing very strong.
I started and had a few bites…then I had to reach for the salt and pepper…TWICE!!!
The pasta was cooked nicely, but the flavour was hardly there! The garlic was just there and no more, and mixed with mushrooms and spinach and chicken all of which have very little flavour and needed more to boost the flavour of the dish.
My friend also had this and they also had to add salt and pepper to give it flavour….not good!
Very poor! wouldn’t recommend it!

Final Thoughts…
Overall a disappointing meal, the starter was good but the pasta was terrible.
It’s put me off heading back.
