La Vita Barrachnie (Baillieston Road, Glasgow) 2022 : Review

Visit & Vibes

The guys at La Vita invited me to come and check out their new East End location, and I have visited all of La Vita’s restaurants so I had to check this one out.

On arrival I was very impressed with the outside, it has a lovely sitting area which will be perfect in the summer.

On entering I was instantly blown away by how lovely the decor was.

The left part of the restaurant has a lovely floral display, which is visually stunning and gives it a lovely warm ambience. The other parts are open but surrounded by lovely decor, and again stunning.

This is the nicest La Vita to date, and everyone I spoke to that had been in a few also agreed.

This was a great start so I was looking forward to the rest of the evening and the food.

The Food

I love Italian food as I have visited Italy many times, so I was looking forward to tasting their food.

Stornoway Arancini £n/a tonight (normally £7.95)
Deep-fried balls of risotto rice and Napoli sauce stuffed with black pudding, mozzarella, and coated in breadcrumbs, served with our famous whisky wholegrain creamy sauce.

I have had a lot of arancini recently but not this style, so I thought let’s give it a try.

On arrival the presentation was nice, and the aroma from it was very good.

After a few snaps, it was time to dig in.

I started trying it on its own, and as expected it had a lovely texture, was perfectly cooked and the flavour was really good.

You start by tasting the black pudding followed by the cheese and then everything else.

I then tried it with the creamy sauce and it worked really really well, though I think it worked well because of the black pudding…I think with normal arancini it would have overpowered the original flavour.

This dish was very good, and if you are a black pudding fan or an arancini fan then check this out.

La Vita Pizza £n/a tonight (normally £12.95)
Spicy marinated chicken and smoked bacon topped with diced mozzarella on a bed of San Marzano tomato sauce.

I had to check out their pizza and due to it being called “La Vita” I had to check it out.

I didn’t look at its description just the name, so this was a nice surprise on arrival.

Firstly this looked very nice, and the aroma was amazing!

I took a bite and wow the flavour so so good! The base was perfectly cooked and nice and thin, and the flavour of the spicy chicken came through to start with then followed by the lovely San Marzano sauce then everything else….plus a wee kick.

This pizza was really good, and I highly recommend it.

Homemade Tiramisu £n/a tonight (normally £8.45)
A layer of sponge soaked with coffee liqueur, filled and decorated with coffee and Zabaglione creams, lightly dusted with cocoa

I love a good tiramisu, over the years when I have visited places that have this it’s either been so-so or very good….more so so to be honest so I was looking forward to how here did theirs.

On arrival as you can see this looked very good, and after a few snaps I couldn’t wait to try it.

I took a bite and it was nice, the texture was perfect, the sponge layer was nice and soft, and the flavour was nice.

For me, the coffee flavour could have been a little bit stronger, as the creams were the main flavour for me.

Final Thoughts…

Stunning, tasty and very full is how I would describe the whole evening.

As you saw it’s probably one of the nicest restaurants I have visited, the decor is just amazing.

The food tonight was very good, very tasty and had good portion sizes.

I can’t fault anything tonight and wish the guys the best of luck with their new restaurant.

In the competitive restaurant industry, it can be challenging to attract customers with so many options available. While maintaining food quality is essential, offering unique ideas can also boost a restaurant’s popularity.

Providing small gifts to customers has become commonplace and offering convenient items such as custom metal keychains can yield unexpected benefits. These little surprises can help create a memorable experience.
