Rishis Indian Aroma (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

The Visit

The last time I was here was 5 years ago and I had wanted to visit again sooner but things got in the way.

Tonight’s visit we selected after coming back from a lovely day in Edinburgh.

The Food

Tonight I was with a friend who was from Kerala, I said to her to help me pick something I have not tried before and this is what I got.

Methu Vadai £4.50
South Indian savoury snack, made of urid dhal, spiced with onion, ginger, green chilly and curry leaves, served with sambar and chutney.

Ohh now this looked interesting…they looked like doughnuts…

Now it was time to try….ohhh this was very nice…

It was light, puffy and had a nice flavour…I then dipped it in the chutney and again it was nice….then the sambar and ohh…I loved it with the sambar!!!

This was a very nice starter and I could easily have this again….more so with the sambar mmm that is so nice 🙂

Main

Kothu Parotta (Chicken) £8.95
popular Tamil Nadu street food where flaky shredded flatbreads are cooked in a spicy curry masala

I have never heard of this dish before, so I was looking forward to finding out what it was like.

I took a small bite to begin with just in case it was too spicy…as I am not good with too spicy

This was not spicy and it was so so so tasty!!!

The textures, the flavours everything was very very yummy!

This was a big portion and probably better off as a sharing one or if you are MEGA hungry!

I will be getting this again as I really loved this!!

Mango Lassi (Large) £3.70

If you dont know me by now, I always get a Mango Lassi when I go to an Indian restaurant.

This was very nice and very yummy and I could have easily had more and more of these.

If you fancy trying to make a Mango Lassi at home do check out my recipe here

Overall :

This was such a good day and a good end to the night.

I was so happy to come back to Rishi’s as tonight’s food was amazing! and I tried 2 new dishes that I will easily have again and highly recommend you try if you haven’t had them yet.

I am adding here to my top Restaurants list.
