Recently I have started to try different cheeses, as there are so many and I have always just stuck with the main ones so I couldnt wait to try this one.

I opened the packet and it smelled ok, so I grabbed the oatcakes that were also included in this and cut a few slices and took a bit without the oatcake and with.

Lets start with the taste on its own, this was really creamy and had a lovely subtle flavour….and with the oatcake again mmm so good.

I had more of this the same day, as I really did love how creamy it was and its nice flavour.

If you like cheese you will love this!

Ritchie’s : Oat Smoked Scottish Cheddar

About : Carefully chosen Scottish Mature Cheddar is enhanced with careful smoking to achieve good permeation of the smoky flavour, but not so strongly as to mask the taste of the cheese

Another cheese woohoo I was spoiled and the “oat smoked” really got my taste buds tingling as I couldn’t wait to try it.

I cut the packet open and instantly was hit with the oat smoked smell, this was so good completely different to the first cheese I tried so just like the first one I grabbed some of the oatcakes that were included and started tasting.

On its own it was lovely and the flavour was very nice, the oat smoked gave it a lovely taste and again with the oatcakes again it was mega mmmmm

You have to try this cheese!

Butes Fruits : Lemon & Lime Marmalade

About : Bringing you the Fruits of Bute…..Jams, Chutneys and Preserves inspired by seasonal produce from the Isle of Bute

IG : @butesfruits_

I love a good marmalade, and when I saw this I knew I was in for a great treat.

I decided to make myself a wee snack to have while watching Netflix, and this is what I made.

Firstly on its own, this was an explosion of flavour in my mouth. It had the perfect mix of lemon and lime, not one of them stood out for me more than the other.

Now on toast, ohhhh just as nice and just and mmmm

I highly recommend you try this if you love marmalade, as its really good and when I do visit Bute I will be sure to get some more.

Ritchie’s : Oat Smoked Salmon

About : Specially selected fillets, dry-cured and lightly smoked over a traditional fire of oak dust, then finally hand-sliced. Delicate and buttery with good length of flavour.

Occasionally for a Saturday breakfast I will have salmon cream cheese on a bagel, so I was happy to see some Salmon included in this gift.

As always I tried it on its own first and it was very fresh and excellent flavour, I could easily see myself buy this again and again.

Now with the bagel…

This was so good and mega moreish, everything you could taste and worked amazing together.

Fresh, tasty and very morish.

Mount Stuart : Tablet

IG : @mount_stuart

Firstly how cute is the packaging for this? its super cute!!!

Tablet is something that is easily started and finished very fast for me, as I have very sweet tooth.

I opened this cute package, and saw the tablet inside and it looked and smelled amazing.

It would be rude not to eat it, so I took a piece and took a nice big bite.

Perfect! perfect texture, sweetness, creamy so so so good!

Mount Stuart : Oat Cakes

As you have seen from the previous photos, these oatcakes have been put to good use with all the cheese etc that was included in this Bute box.

These had the perfect texture, not too soft or too crispy, they melted in my mouth and have a lovely flavour and worked really well with everything in this box.

Mount Stuart : Shortbread

I love shortbread, its fluffy, sweet, buttery and yum so I was excited to try this.

I opened this and oh the lovely shortbread smell hit me, and my mouth started to water.

I took a bite and it was so so so good! the way shortbread should be just like I said fluffy, sweet, buttery and very very moreish.

Overall :

Firstly a massive thanks to @visit_bute and @butekitchen_ for this lovely box, all the items were amazing.

I loved tasting them and trying them, and finding new products.

I had planned on picking a favourite from this box, but to be honest I can’t every single item was great.

This box is available to buy from Bute Kitchen. A small social enterprise set up to promote, develop and employ local producers. It would mean the world to them if you take them in any posts as well as Visit Bute.
