Pico Sauces – Fun Indian Hot Sauces from Modern India : Review

GIFTED

The guys over at Pico Sauces wanted me to try some of their sauces, and they sounded amazing so I said yes please 🙂

I love finding new products and trying new things, so I couldn’t wait to try these.

We all love sauces, tomato, mayo, mustard etc we love to put it on things or dip stuff in so I was very excited to try something new.

About Pico Sauces

Pico Sauces bring you a bit of India in every drop. These are not the flavours of the curry-house Indian food that you know (and also love), but authentic flavours from Modern India, an India that is waiting to be discovered by those curious enough to taste. Go on, take a dip. We know you want to.

The sauces

Punjabi Ketchup

I decided if I was going to try any of these sauces, I wouldn’t add any other extras like cheese etc when I do try them.

This one I was told is good with burgers and hot dogs, so I opted for a burger and as I said just a basic burger bun and sauce combo.

The smell of this sauce was really nice, I just hoped it tasted as good as it smelled…plus as you can see from the bottle it had 3 orange chilli which implied spicy….and I am not mr spicy.

Time to taste…

WOW, amazing flavour, creamy and just a nice subtle kick this is now my favourite burger sauce!!!

I highly highly recommend this sauce!!!!!

Varanasi Tamarind Chutney

I was told this is kinda like an Indian brown sauce, so what better to make to go with it….a sausage sandwich to test it out.

On the bottle it only had one chilli so I knew it wouldn’t be spicy, it smelled really good so now to put it on the sausage and try.

Taste wise yeah this was very very nice, and worked perfectly with the sausage…my only issue is it could be a little thicker in consistency as it was very runny….apart from that yeah another very very nice sauce.

Wonder what else I will use this on…..

Ghost Pepper Sauce

Just like the previous sauces, I wanted to try them on something but add no extras so I can taste the flavour.

I actually put a very very small drop on a spoon and tried it, yup an instant kick then it calmed down and I was fine. Just so you know I am not a spicy person, but this was ok…..I was wrong.

I poured some on my chicken burger and took a bite, this was fine…4 bites in and WOW

My mouth was on fire, but when it did calm down the flavour was nice…just the burn.

I finished the burger, and my mouth was on fire, and my eyes watering it was ok but it was just too much of a kick for me.

If you like spicy sauces then this one is defo for you.

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the sauces.

This was a great gift from Pico Sauces, as I got to try sauces I probably wouldn’t have known about or possibly tried.

Out of the 3 sauces, the Punjabi Ketchup was my favourite, and I will be ordering more of this when this runs down…at least 3 bottles at a time as I can think of many things this will work with.

I highly recommend Pico Sauces, I loved the flavour of them all (even if the Ghost pepper one was too much for me).

When I use the sauces on or with other dishes I will post these on my Instagram.
