GIFTED

The guys over at Degusta Box sent me another box to try, this month was filled with products you will find at Sainsburys.

About

Enjoy 10 to 15 products, many are completely new to the market! Receive your Degusta Box every month filled with goodies.

All for a cheaper price than you would pay in the shops!

WOW look how many items are in this months box, they spoiled everyone again.

I do see a product I have had many times, the beer from Tiny Rebel Brew Co. 🙂 I have many of their beers so I cant wait to have a wee drink.

As I eat, drink etc each product I will do a wee review of each item so keep watching for my posts.⠀

The Goodies

Pipers Crisps

There were two packets of Pipers crisps so lets do a wee review for each

Wild Thyme & Rosemary

I started with this one, first I smelled the packet and ohhh it smelled lovely…now time to taste.

WOW this was so good, I really loved the flavour and the crunch of these crisps.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Cheddar & Onion

Next was these, normally I am not a big cheese and onion fan but I went in with an open mind.

These were nice and the flavour wasn’t over powering, and I didn’t have any strong after taste which I get with others.

I still preferred the Wild Thyme and Rosemary

Tony’s Chocolonely

This stood out for me as it sounded soo good “Chocolate caramel and sea salt”

I took a small bite to start with and WOW I was in love!!!

You get the chocolate flavour to start with, then the caramel kicks in and it ends with the sea salt….this was so good and probably will be my favorite item in this box.

Clwb Tropica IPA (Tiny Rebel)

As soon as I saw the can I knew what it was and the brewery.

I am a fan of Tiny Rebel, I even have their orange Tiny Rebel t-shirt. They do really good beers, so I couldn’t wait to pop this open.

This isnt my fav one of their beers but it is a really nice one, its slightly sour but not too sour you dont want to finish it.

I drank this along with the peanuts, while watching Netflix.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Curators Cocoa Caramel Peanuts

Now this sounded a very interesting combo, chocolate caramel coated peanuts….I decided to pop open my beer and enjoy these on their own and with my beer.

Now this was interesting, they were nice but slightly unusual.

They did taste nice on their own and with a beer

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Peters Yard Sourdough Bites

I have had a few products from Peters Yard, and enjoyed them…and these sounded and looked nice from the packet.

Time to open and dig in.

mmmm these were so good! the flavour was very nice, the texture was great and yeah I sat down with Netflix and a drink and enjoyed the whole packet.

Highly recommended.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Brave Roasted Chickpeas (Sweet Chilli)

This sounded very good, I am a big fan of chickpea snacks and also the flavour sweet chilli so I really looked forward to opening these.

Hmm I had to take a few for me to taste the sweet chilli which I was a little disappointed with, but overall they were just ok.

For a wee mid meal snack am sure these would be great.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Dash Water : Peaches

Now this sounded interesting, I like water and I like the flavour of peach so this should be good.

hmm it was just ok, for me personally the flavour of peach was a little weak for me…I would have preferred if it was a stronger flavour.

I am sitting on the fence with this one…

Nexba Pineapple Soft Drink

Woohoo another drink.

After the peach water I thought lets try this as am sure this will be much better.

This was a very nice drink, and very refreshing. I really liked its flavour, it wasnt a strong pineapple taste but enough to enjoy it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Good Earth Herbal Tea

I am not much a tea drinker but I thought its always good to try new things.

This smelled really nice when I opened the box, and again the pouch smelled very good.

I let this sit for a little in my cup, and then tried it.

This was lovely, much better than I expected….it still hasn’t turned me over to be a tea drinker but if you like tea I highly recommend this.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Odysea Aubergine Meze Dip

A premium dip that doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge and based on a traditional Greek recipe.

Aubergine is not the first that comes to mind when I think of a dip, so this would be interesting to try and see how it tastes.

I popped it open and grabbed some crisps.

This was interesting, Aubergine is not a flavour I am very familiar with….

I did and didnt like it at the same time if that makes sense, I think its just a flavour that I need to get accustomed with. I am sure if you like Aubergine you will love this, for me I am sitting on the fence.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Leon Aioli (Garlic Mayo)

It has been at the heart of LEON restaurant menus since 2004.

I love most things garlic so I couldn’t wait to try this, though some garlic dishes do come back on me so I was hoping it wasn’t too strong a flavour.

I made myself a chicken sandwich, and spread it over the chicken.

This was very very nice, the garlic was not overpowering and perfect! and it tasted really good.

I highly recommend this!.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Capsicana Mexican Tomato & Chipotle Tinga Cooking Paste

It’s based on the dish “chicken tinga” a classic shredded chicken dish originally from the state of Puebla.

I have been doing a lot more home cooking again recently, and when I got this I thought ohh this will be interesting to cook with.

I made a shredded chicken and rice dish, and used this sauce on the chicken.

This was really good and had a very subtle kick, which was perfect for me. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the dish as I enjoyed it too much before I remembered I had to take a photo.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the products and the DegustaBox

Firstly this is a great idea, you get a box every month with surprise products. This for me was very cool, as I got to try some products that I might never have thought to try.

If you like what you saw and read, check them out even for one box….you never know you may keep it going and get a box a month 🙂
