As most my readers know my favourite Indian restaurant in Glasgow, is Charcoals and I have been here many times and even filmed inside.

Tonight I was treating my dad to dinner, and I decided to take him here. My dad is a big fan of Indian food, and he has never been here so it was time to introduce Charcoals to him.

The Food…

Starter

Onion Baji (GF) £3.25
Finally Spiced onions mixed with spicy gram flour, spices and deep fried

I have had these a long time ago, plus I knew you got two so I thought I would share a starter with my dad.

These were perfect, flavour, texture and just YUM!!! I could have easily had more of this but I didn’t as I had the main course coming.

My dad said these were the best he has had.

Main Course

Butter Chicken (GF) £9.95 & Basmati Fried Rice (GF) £2.75
Invented in Delhi in 1970’s, mildly spiced and slightly sweet and accessible to all tastes.

I have had this before, and it was thanks to Charcoals that this is now one of my favs to order.

This was really nice, flavours, and the chicken was very very tender it was a perfect mouthful each time.

Overall

I know it sounds crazy reading this but as always I can’t fault here, the food, service etc it’s always perfect every time I am in.

Charcoals are still my #1 Indian restaurant in Glasgow.

Please do check them out!!

  1. I couldn’t agree more. I pride myself in being an early adopter of Charcoals a good number of years ago – long before the first award and refurb. The food was superb and the service was, if possible, even better. For a few years was a regular but I haven’t been able to visit as often due to circumstance changes. Howeve it is very high up my list when things improve.
