Visit Date : Sunday 5th June

Obu Pan Asian is a new kid to the Glasgow restaurant block. It’s located in Princess square. The menu offers choices in Thai, Japanese, and Chinese giving a nice mix of styles and tastes.

I have been to Obu probably around 5 times now….maybe more and so far I have never been disappointed.

This visit since I knew I would be blogging about it, I decided to try a few different things on the menu.

Starter :

My starter consisted of two options as currently, I am not taking anything after my main.

Pulled Pork Baos which are Light, soft Chinese steamed buns with a filling.

Pulled Pork Baos

I have ordered a Bao before but thought it was just ok, but I really liked the pulled pork Baos.

Tiger Prawn Tempura with a spicy Kimchi mayonnaise dip

Tiger Prawn Tempura

This was my first time trying this and I would order this again, my only complaint was that there were only 3 a few more would have been nice…..but then again it is a starter.

I have to admit this has been the nicest starter I have had in a long time.

Beef Bulgogi Burger

For my main, I went for the burger, as you know by my other posts or tweets my favourite place for burgers in Glasgow so far is Byron.

Beef Bulgogi Burger: 7oz beef burger marinated with ginger, soy, and sesame oil. Soft bun, kimchi mayo, and cheese.

This was again very nice, but I have still to find a burger that is better than the ones from Byron. If you are in Obu and like burgers do try it.

Overall :

Overall Obu Pan Asian, Nippon Kitchen, and the Lychee are my 3 top places in Glasgow for Asian food.

Please do check out Obu Pan Asian, when I go back I will try a few other items on the menu so keep watching for future reviews.
